Friedensreich Hundertwasser

Friedensreich (Stowasser) Hundertwasser was a prominent contemporary 20th century Austrian painter, printmaker and architect (1920-2000).  He was born to a Catholic father and Jewish mother in Vienna and he studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts in 1948. Hundertwassert's work is mostly abstract, identified by dominant spirals, a near absence of straight lines, rich colors, opulent patterns, and a very busy frame.

I can stare at his paintings all day, totally lost in the sinuous scribbles and the vibrant energy that they emanate.
