Charles and Ray Eames have undoubtedly been the seminal designers of the fifties. Mid-century, modern and post-modern furniture loving novices, may perhaps (by a real long-shot) have not heard of them, but its unlikely that they have never salivated over the delicious interpretation of modernism in their uniquely-designed furniture.
Charles and Ray Eames, the multi-talented husband-wife pair, had their presence in diverse fields ranging from architecture to furniture design, film-making and fine-art. It is, however their contribution to post WWII modern architecture and in particular, modern furniture that I would like to remember them by.
